Guests of Honor

Sure, young Patrick Kennedy had grown up around famous people. And President Ronald Reagan was most certainly from the other party. But that didn’t stop a 17-year-old Kennedy from beaming when he got the chance to take a photo with the president and first lady Nancy Reagan. The June 24, 1985, occasion was a dinner at Sen. Edward Kennedy’s (D-Mass.) McLean, Va., home for the John F. Kennedy Library. Patrick Kennedy, the son of Edward Kennedy and nephew of JFK who is now a Democratic Congressman from Rhode Island, posed with the Reagans in the dining room. The first couple was invited by the late president’s children, John and Caroline.
