WWII Memorial Opens. Nearly six decades after America’s “Greatest Generation” won the war against Germany and Japan, the National World War II Memorial will be unveiled to the public at 9:30 a.m. today.

[IMGCAP(1)] Located on the Mall between 17th Street and the Reflecting Pool, the memorial will be officially dedicated Memorial Day weekend.
