Celebrating Our First 50 Years

Roll Call debuted June 16, 1955, as a one-of-a-kind newspaper covering the people, process and politics of Capitol Hill. Much has changed over the past 50 years: Originally published just one per week, Roll Call now appears four times a week. We’ve also added Politics, Vested Interests and Around the Hill sections, established “must read” supplements such as the annual “Guide to Congress” and Policy Briefings, and evolved from our original look (above).

Beginning today, we will spend each Monday of the coming year reflecting on our evolution and that of Congress, one year at a time.
