Intranet Award

The Senate Republican Conference’s Intranet site was recently named one of the 10 best government Web sites in the world by the international consulting firm Nielsen Norman Group.

[IMGCAP(1)]The conference Web site, https://src.senate.gov, was praised for “its inventive features, exhaustive content and consistent navigation,” Jakob Nielsen, founder of the company, said in a statement. The Nielsen Norman Group describes itself as an “expert on corporate culture and the human-centered development process.”

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Va., Sweden’s government offices, and the United Kingdom’s Department of Transport also were among those honored for their Web presence.

“This report reaffirms that we are achieving our objective of communicating to our community in a seamless and effective manner,” GOP Conference Chairman Rick Santorum (Pa.) said.
