New Name, Same Letterhead. Expect to continue seeing stationery from the General Accounting Office for a while, even though Congress’ investigative arm was renamed the Government Accountability Office last week. “We plan to use all of our existing stationery up,” said Comptroller General David Walker, who heads GAO. “After all, we are in the economy and efficiency business.” [IMGCAP(1)]

President Bush signed legislation Wednesday that that renamed the agency and gives it flexibility in restructuring its work force and attracting and retaining employees.
