Officers Raise Money for Displaced Colleague

The Capitol Police Labor Committee is seeking donations to assist a House division officer left homeless following an Aug. 1 house fire.

The Crofton, Va., home of Officer Chad McFarland, his wife and two young daughters was destroyed when a faulty electrical plug sparked the early August fire.

The labor committee is accepting gift certificates or monetary donations for the McFarland family to assist them during their relocation to a new home.

To make a donation, contact Capitol Police Officer Chris Ferguson at cferguson@tmo.blackberry.net or at (202) 228-4646 or Lt. Tara Neeld at (202) 225-0400.

“It’s something that we never want to have to go through, but hopefully we can help his transition out,” said Labor Committee Chairman Ron Potter.
