Once again this year, Capitol Hill residents will be decking out their homes in the spookiest way possible for a good cause.

Realtor Phyllis Jane Young is sponsoring “The Haunting of the Hill III,” a house-decorating contest in which the grand prize is a $1,000 donation to the school of the winner’s choice.

Five winning entries will be chosen, and there’s an extra treat in store for those selected as winners — each will receive a $100 gift certificate to his or her favorite Capitol Hill restaurant.

The deadline for entries is Oct. 27. Judging will take place on the evening of Oct. 29, and winners will be posted Oct. 30 at www.phyllisjaneyoung.com.
