Weldon Is First Member to Be American College of Physicians Fellow

[IMGCAP(1)]Long before Dave Weldon became the Representative for Florida’s 15th district, he was an aspiring medical student. Weldon studied medicine at the State University of New York’s Buffalo School of Medicine on a scholarship with the Army Health Professions Scholarship program. He is pictured here in 1980, during his fourth year in medical school, standing in front of the Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, where he did an internship and residency in internal medicine. Weldon continued his work with the Army through 1987 and was elected to Congress in 1994. Earlier this year, Weldon became the first Member of Congress to be named a fellow by the American College of Physicians.
