Face-off in the Park

It may not have taken place on the floor of the House or Senate, but all the same, there was a showdown on Capitol Hill last week.

Here, an eastern gray squirrel and a red-tailed hawk face off in Upper Senate Park. The hawk, no doubt, had found his lunch. But his lunch-to-be was ready to stand his ground. So this face-off ensued.

It turns out the squirrel won. The hawk eventually tired of the stalemate and went searching for a new lunch option.
