The Spirit of ’76

The 46th Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game will take place Monday night at RFK Stadium, and maybe the Democratic squad will be able to celebrate afterward the way they did in this photo, which was taken after Democrats beat Republicans, 5-4, at Baltimore’s Memorial Stadium in 1976.
The photo includes, from left, game announcer Philip Hochberg, Roll Call founder Sid Yudain, Speaker Carl Albert (D-Okla.), Rep. Marty Russo (D-Ill.) holding the coveted Roll Call trophy, and Democratic Reps. Mendel Davis (S.C.), Tom Downey (N.Y.) and James Lloyd (Calif.).
