This is the fifth Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game for Barrett, who caught for The Citadel as a walk-on player. Last year, Barrett went 0-for-1. He will sport an Erskine College uniform.

Barton hopes to continue the success of his predecessor, Rep. Mike Oxley (Ohio). While this is his first year as skipper, he has been a coach for the Republicans since 1995. The former high school baseball and football player will once again don a Texas Rangers uniform.

Brady, a former MVP, didn’t have his most stellar performance last year but at least he didn’t get hurt. The former University of South Dakota center fielder had been hurt three times in previous contests. At press time, Brady was still awaiting the outcome of the Texas high school baseball championships to determine what jersey he would wear.

Buyer returns again this year as one of the GOP coaches. Like past years, he will don an Indiana University uniform.

Home Monticello

Playing for the sixth year, Capito is one of two female Members on the Republican squad. She will wear a Marshall University uniform this year.

Home Charleston

More of a football player than
a baseball player, Conaway played on the offensive and defensive lines on the first state championship team at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas, before playing at what was
then East Texas State University.
He will wear a Houston Astros jersey.

Home Midland

Davis returns to the diamond after a solid game last year. He was 1-for-1 with an RBI. You can find him sporting a Washington Nationals uniform.

Home Falls Church

With former Sen. Rick Santorum’s (Pa.) defeat in November, Ensign is the only Member of the Senate on the Republican squad this year.
He had a strong performance last year with a hit and a run scored.

Home Las Vegas

Flake will wear his lucky No. 13 Arizona Diamondbacks uniform when he takes to the diamond. Last year, he contributed a run to the Republicans’ victory with an RBI.

Gingrey batted 1.000 again last year going 1-for-1. You will see him on the field wearing a Berry College uniform.

Home Marietta

Gohmert is making his Congressional baseball debut this year. The former Eagle Scout will sport a Tyler Junior College jersey.

After failing to get a hit last year, Goode hopes that will change when he steps into the batter’s box tonight. He will be wearing a Martinsville High School uniform.

Home Rocky Mount

Coming out to play for the first time since his election to Congress seven years ago, Graves will wear a Kansas City Royals jersey.

Hulshof added another MVP trophy to his collection last year when he was picked as the game’s top player after knocking a key double at the bottom of the third inning that broke a 1-1 tie. He also received the award in 2001. He will don a Missouri Tigers uniform.

Home Columbia

Kingston scored two runs last year, but it wasn’t enough to get any offers from major league clubs. Kingston once said he hoped his performance during the Congressional baseball game would get some attention from pro scouts. He will again wear the uniform of the Savannah Chain.

Home Savannah

Mack, whose great-grandfather was a Hall of Fame baseball manager and owner of the then-Philadelphia Athletics, will be wearing a vintage A’s jersey again this year.

Home Fort Myers

One of only two members of the 2006 Republican freshman class playing, McCarthy will begin his Congressional baseball career sporting a California State University at Bakersfield No. 22 jersey.

Home Bakersfield

McCotter will be playing this year for the sixth time. In 2006, he batted .500. On the field, McCotter will don the jersey of the Detroit Tigers.

Home Livonia

Last year, Pearce went 1-for-1 and scored a run. He will wear a New Mexico State University uniform.

Home Hobbs

Bouncing back from a Congressional baseball knee injury, Pickering went 1-for-3 last year. A high school catcher, he went on to play football at the University of Mississippi. He will be donning his Mississippi State University uniform again tonight.

Home Hebron

Putnam, again the youngest player in the game at 32, will wear a Florida Gators jersey, the uniform of his alma mater.

Home Bartow

This GOP team veteran, who was the first woman to get on base in a Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game, will again wear a No. 18 Florida Marlins uniform in honor of the state’s 18th district, which she represents. She hopes to live up to the great Cuban baseball heritage from which she comes.

Home Miami

The fiery freshman Congressman from Idaho hopes to add some of his energy to the Republican squad this year. Sali will wear a Lewis-Clark State College uniform in his debut game.

Home Meridian

Some watching the game last year thought Shimkus should receive a third MVP award.
He pitched a complete game, allowing just seven hits and one run. He also threw five strikeouts. Shimkus will wear the uniform of Metro-East Lutheran High School in Edwardsville, Ill., where he was once a teacher.

Home Collinsville

Shuster scored a run last year but it wasn’t quite the MVP performance he put together in 2004. Wearing an Altoona Curve uniform, he will again be a player the Democrats need to keep an eye on.

Home Hollidaysburg

Tiahrt, who played college football for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology from 1969 to 1971, will again sport a Wichita State University uniform. He scored a run last year.

Home Goddard

Wamp extended his hitting streak last year to 10 games. He hopes to repeat his 1999 MVP performance while once again wearing a University of Tennessee uniform.
