D.C. Democrats’ Dinner Raises Caucus Funds

The D.C. Democratic Party will hold its 24th Annual Kennedys-King Dinner on Oct. 24. Mayor Adrian Fenty, D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, Council Chairman Vincent Gray and other councilmembers will attend, and 2008 Democratic presidential candidates and members of the Kennedy and King families have been invited.

A VIP reception will be held at 6:15 followed by the awards dinner, dessert and dancing from 7:30 until 11.

Proceeds from the gala will help publicize and conduct the Jan. 19 pre-primary caucus in which the District elects delegates to the August Democratic National Convention. Funds also will promote the Feb. 12 Chesapeake area presidential primaries.

The gala will be held at the Hyatt Regency, 400 New Jersey Ave. NW. General tickets are $175; VIP tickets are $250. Discounted general tickets can be purchased through the Ward 6 Democrats for $150 by contacting Jan Eichhorn at 202-547-8855.
