DDOT to Discuss Garfield Park Plan

The D.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting tonight to discuss a bicycle and pedestrian improvement to connect Garfield Park with the future Washington Canal Park.

The project involves the three-block stretch of Second Street Southeast from F to I streets that cuts south through Garfield Park and the Interstate 295 underpass.

Washington Canal Park is slated to run along Second Street between I and M streets.

At the meeting DDOT will describe current project conditions and provide an opportunity for community input.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the basement of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 128 Second St. SE.
