Iowa: Good to Be First — Braley Getting Obama’s Help

Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.), a frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination, was set on Sunday to headline a fundraiser for freshman Rep. Bruce Braley (D).

Obama was scheduled to be the featured guest at Braley’s “Bruce, Blues & BBQ” fundraiser in Waterloo. Presidential contenders ex-Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) also have raised money for Braley.

Braley’s 1st district, centered in eastern Iowa, leans Democratic. The Congressman appears to have no serious Republican threat on the horizon.
