Ex-Hill Aide Guilty of Fraud

The Justice Department announced late Friday that a former office manager for three House Members pleaded guilty in federal court to submitting almost $200,000 in fraudulent expense vouchers from January 2005 to December 2006.

Laura Flores, 47, of Arlington, Va., worked part time for three different Members at the time: Democratic Reps. Neil Abercrombie (Hawaii), Jim Costa (Calif.) and Jane Harman (Calif.).

She faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing has been scheduled for May 2.
