Group Honors Hill Community Leaders

Three members of the Capitol Hill community will be honored this May at the 25th Annual Capitol Hill Community Achievement Awards Dinner.

Emily Guthrie, executive director of the Capitol Hills Group Ministry; Gary Peterson, chairman of the Eastern Market Fund of the Capitol Hill Community Foundation; and D.C. City Administrator Dan Tangherlini will be recognized for their contributions. The dinner will take place at the Folger Shakespeare Library on May 14 and will benefit the Capitol Hill Community Foundation.

“What it is is a battery-charging event,” Foundation President Nicky Cymrot said. “We fill up the Folger Shakespeare Library, and it’s a glorious evening celebrating the good work of our neighbors each year.”

The event includes a reception, dinner and speeches from the honorees and other members of the community.

“It’s just a feel-good moment for everyone,” Cymrot said.

Tickets for the event start at $195, while sponsorship tickets are available beginning at $350. The money is used by the foundation to support various community grants. Tickets can be found at capitolhillcommunityfoundation.org.
