Making a Pitch in Pennsylvania

Now-Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) campaigns with Julie Nixon, daughter of Richard Nixon, in South Philadelphia in 1972. At the time, Spector was serving as the district attorney of Philadelphia. Nixon beat Democratic candidate George McGovern by a landslide in the election. But it would not be long before the Watergate scandal broke, eventually forcing Nixon out of office.
