Indiana: Burton, McGoff on the Air as May Primary Looms

Hoosier State Republicans are hitting the airwaves, as 13-term Rep. Dan Burton is up with his first radio advertisement in the GOP primary against former Marion County Coroner John McGoff.

Burton’s radio spot is a response to a negative ad that McGoff had put up on the air earlier this cycle, according to Republicans in the district who have heard it.

Meanwhile, McGoff himself is preparing to put up his first television spot on the air and is giving his supporters a preview in his newsletter. This ad, however, is a positive biographical spot focusing on his career as a medical worker and in the military.

Burton’s only publicized television buy so far was a positive, biographical spot in January, though his campaign would not return phone calls seeking clarification about the new ad.

Burton is favored to win the May 6 primary in one of the most Republican districts in the country.
