Byrd Back in Hospital With Fever

Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), the ailing chairman of the Appropriations Committee, has been admitted to a Virginia hospital after running a fever. A senior Democratic aide confirmed Byrd is resting overnight at Fairfax Inova Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance earlier in the evening at the suggestion of his doctor. Byrd, 90, has been in and out of the hospital in recent months after falling at his home earlier this year. — Erin P. Billings
