New Mexico: Udall Ad Focuses On Bread-and-Butter Issues

Rep. Tom Udall (D) is up with another TV ad as he seeks to build a lead over Rep. Steve Pearce (R) in the battle to replace retiring Sen. Pete Domenici (R).

Pearce won the GOP nomination last week, beating Rep. Heather Wilson by just 2 points in the Republican primary.

In Udall’s latest TV spot, he focuses on bread-and-butter issues such as food costs, energy and health care. The 30-second ad is running statewide.

“I’ve fought to give every small business access to the same health care plan we have in Congress,” Udall says as the spot concludes. “I’ve approved this message because we have to make the economy work for the middle class again.”

In every poll taken of the Senate race prior to the GOP primary, Udall maintained big leads over both Pearce and Wilson.
