Charlie Black, a top adviser to Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign, will meet with the House GOP whip team Wednesday morning, according to knowledgeable sources.

Black’s visit is part of an ongoing coordination effort between the McCain campaign and Hill Republicans as they seek to sync their election message and strategy.

Black, a well-known and powerful lobbyist, will update the Republican whips about the campaign.

Quiet grumbling has persisted even within party ranks about the McCain campaign’s disorganization and sluggish start to the general election despite having a months-long head start over presumed Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.).
