Colorado: First Fitz-Gerald TV Ad Is Full of Testimonials

Former state Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald is on the air with her first television ad in her bid to win the 2nd district Democratic primary.

The 30-second spot, titled “I’m for Joan,” features voter testimonials describing what Fitz-Gerald did for Colorado while serving in the state Senate and what she’ll do in Congress if elected to the House this fall.

The Fitz-Gerald campaign purchased an undisclosed number of gross ratings points on broadcast television in the Denver media market, which serves the solidly Democratic, Boulder-area 2nd district. Rep. Mark Udall (D), who currently holds the seat, is running for Senate.

Fitz-Gerald is running in the Aug. 12 primary against Jared Polis, a wealthy Internet entrepreneur who is the former state Board of Education president, and environmental activist Will Shafroth. Polis has already dumped more than $2 million of his own money into the race.
