Nebraska: Primary Loser Disses Terry’s Democratic Foe

Former 2nd district Democratic candidate Richard Carter has endorsed Republican Rep. Lee Terry in his bid for re-election against businessman Jim Esch (D).

Carter, a captain in the Air Force Reserves who served in the Iraq War, lost this year’s 2nd district Democratic primary to Esch, who waged an unsuccessful bid to oust Terry in 2006.

“I’m here today to tell you that this is one Democrat who is voting for Lee Terry,” Carter told a recent gathering of state Republicans, according to a Terry campaign press release.

The 2nd district leans Republican, and Terry appears positioned to win re-election at this point.
