Photo From the Attic: Going Herlong

[IMGCAP(1)] In April 1955, Rep. Albert Sydney Herlong (D-Fla.) hosted his second bipartisan spring training camp in his Daytona Beach district for Members playing in the annual Congressional baseball game. Herlong assured his constituents that Members paid their own way and it would not interfere with their duties since it was held during the early April recess.

The 47th edition of the game takes place at 7:05 p.m. tonight at Nationals Park. Tickets ($8) are available at the stadium. To learn more about the history of the game, visit clerk.house.gov or rollcall.com/features/baseball.html.
