Alabama: Feingold to Raise Cash for Rogers Challenger

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) will headline a Capitol Hill fundraiser Wednesday for Josh Segall (D), the young attorney who is challenging Rep. Mike Rogers (R).

The low-dollar event — it costs just $25 to get in — takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Union Pub, on the Senate side.

Segall has been highly touted by Democratic House leaders but faces an uphill climb both politically and on the financial front. Through June 30, he had $411,000 in his campaign account while Rogers banked more than $1.1 million.

Meanwhile, Vice President Cheney is coming to Alabama to help Rogers — and every other Republican on the Magnolia State ballot this November.

Cheney is headlining a fundraiser Aug. 1 for Alabama Victory ’08, the coordinated campaign committee that will pay for the presidential campaign and other GOP activities in the state this fall.

The luncheon — ticket prices start at $500 — will take place at the Shoal Creek Country Club in Birmingham.
