Connecticut: First Lady Will Raise Money for Cappiello

First lady Laura Bush is scheduled to raise money this morning for state Sen. David Cappiello (R), the party’s pick to face freshman Rep. Christopher Murphy (D).

Bush was scheduled to attend a breakfast for Cappiello this morning at a private home in Danbury, according to an e-mail sent out by the Republican’s campaign.

Murphy won his first term in Congress with 54 percent of the vote over longtime Rep. Nancy Johnson (R) in the previous cycle. The northwestern Connecticut district narrowly voted for Democratic presidential candidates in 2000 and 2004.
