K Street Files: Beyond the Beltway

McBee Strategic Consulting, which has been in growth mode in recent months, has expanded its business to California’s tech-heavy Silicon Valley. The firm’s new outpost there will focus less on lobbying work and more on advising venture capital investments in alternative energy companies.

[IMGCAP(1)]“We’re entering a period of structural change in how energy markets are regulated, which will advantage technologies that provide cleaner, greener and more sustainable alternatives to traditional fossil fuel energy solutions,” Steve McBee, the firm’s founder and president, wrote in an e-mail.

McBee said he has been meeting with clean-energy start-ups and venture capital firms in Silicon Valley to tell them of potential regulatory and legislative changes in Washington, D.C., and how those changes could affect their business.
