Morning Business: Acting Ethical

The House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct on Friday tapped Kenyen R. Brown to serve as acting chief counsel and staff director.

[IMGCAP(1)]“We look forward to working with Mr. Brown to continue the important work of the Committee in the 110th Congress,” Chairwoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-Ohio) and ranking member Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) said in a statement.

Brown, promoted from his post as deputy chief counsel, replaces William O’Reilly, who left the panel to return to private practice.

A Capitol Hill veteran, Brown previously served as senior counsel on the Senate Ethics Committee, and is also a former assistant U.S. attorney and deputy district attorney in Alabama.
