Liberal Group Reminding Delegates of Katrina Failure

Campaign For America’s Future, a liberal advocacy group, has hit the television airwaves with a spot designed specifically to needle Republican delegates who are spending the week in St. Paul, Minn., for the GOP presidential nominating convention. The group purchased air time through the Hotel Networks, which delivers advertising to hotel rooms nationwide. Campaign For America’s Future bought time on 365,000 hotel rooms across the country, including 5,000 hotel rooms in Minneapolis and St. Paul, where Republicans are gathered for the Republican National Convention. The ad, produced on the heels of Hurricane Gustav pounding the Gulf Coast over the past few days, hits Republicans and President Bush for their management of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated New Orleans when it made landfall three years ago. “To conservatives gathered in St. Paul, thanks for the memories,” the ad’s voice-over says sarcastically as the spot opens.
