Connecticut: Cappiello Airs First Ad in Race With Murphy

State Sen. David Cappiello (R), who is challenging freshman Rep. Christopher Murphy (D), has released his first television advertisement of the election cycle.

In the 30-second spot “Together,” Cappiello’s Democratic wife highlights her husband’s bipartisan track record in his political career.

“I like the Red Sox. He’s a Yankee’s fan,” Christine Cappiello said in the ad. “I’m a Democrat. He’s a Republican. From the moment we met, I could tell David was someone who could work well with people from all walks of life. I see it all the time. David is always reaching out, listening, and putting politics aside to make Connecticut a better place for our family, and yours.”

Murphy won his seat by 10 points in 2006 against longtime Rep. Nancy Johnson (R), and he is favored to win a second term.
