Morning Business: Moving Day

The new Office of Congressional Ethics will set up shop in the Longworth House Office Building.

[IMGCAP(1)]The ethics office, tasked with reviewing complaints and recommending investigations to the full House ethics committee, will be located at 1017 Longworth.

That room is currently used by the Select Committee on the Voting Irregularities of August 2, 2007, which is set to complete its work this month.

OCE chairman and ex-Rep. David Skaggs (D-Colo.) said Tuesday that the office has yet to employ any staff members, noting that any new hires must be approved by the full six-member board.

Ex-Rep. Porter Goss (R-Fla.) serves as the board’s co-chairman.
