Nation: BIPAC Rolls Out New House Endorsements

The Business Industry Political Action Committee this week endorsed nine additional candidates for Congress. The list of bipartisan endorsements includes six incumbents, one challenger and two candidates in open-seat races.

The incumbents are: Rep. Melissa Bean (D-Ill.), Rep. Phil English (R-Pa.), Rep. Nick Lampson (D-Texas), Rep. Jim Marshall (D-Ga.), Rep. Jon Porter (R-Nev.) and Rep. Ciro Rodriguez (D-Texas).

The other candidates are former California Assemblyman Dean Andal (R), who is challenging Rep. Jerry McNerney (D-Calif.), Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright (D), who is running in the race to replace Rep. Terry Everett (R-Ala.), and Oregon state Sen. Kurt Schrader (D), who is seeking the seat being vacated by Rep. Darlene Hooley (D-Ore.).

“Leaders are desperately needed who will step forward and put their districts ahead of party leadership,” said Gregory Casey, BIPAC’s president and chief executive officer.

BIPAC has now endorsed 40 candidates for Congress this cycle and expects to make more endorsements between now and Election Day.
