Paulson Briefing Senate Republicans

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson met with GOP lawmakers Tuesday at the weekly lunches to shore up support for the administration’s bailout program.

After appearing before the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee to sell the administration’s proposal to help failing investment firms, Paulson then made his pitch to Senate Republicans.

Vice President Cheney was also scheduled to attend.
