Texas: Boehner Going to Texas to Campaign for Olson

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) is set to join former Senate aide Pete Olson on Saturday to help the 22nd district GOP nominee open the Galveston County Republican Party headquarters.

Olson is challenging Rep. Nick Lampson (D) in a conservative-leaning district deemed one of the House GOP’s best pickup opportunities of the cycle. Galveston County is one of four counties that are partially included in the suburban Houston 22nd district.

With the Olson campaign recently suspended because of Hurricane Ike and its aftermath, and Boehner’s attention over the last week focused on passing a rescue package for the financial industry, Saturday’s event could signal a return to normalcy for both.
