Business Group Makes Final Round of Endorsements

The Business Industry Political Action Committee announced its final round of endorsements for Congress on Tuesday.

The PAC is backing former Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-N.H.), who is trying to get his seat back from the woman who ousted him in 2006, Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D); radio personality Jennifer Horn (R), who is challenging Rep. Paul Hodes (D-N.H.); Colorado Secretary of State Mike Coffman (R), who is heavily favored to succeed retiring Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.); former Missouri Tourism Director Blaine Luetkemeyer (R), who is running in the race to replace Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.); and former Wyoming state Treasurer Cynthia Lummis (R), who is running to replace retiring Rep. Barbara Cubin (R-Wyo.).

“Our challenge this cycle is to replace the 25 or so voices of prosperity that we are losing to retirements,” said Gregory Casey, president and chief executive officer of BIPAC. “We believe these final endorsements — along with those already announced — will do that. The reality of the 111th Congress is that we need to play both offense and defense.”

With Tuesday’s announcement, BIPAC has endorsed a total of 45 candidates for Congress in 2008. For a complete listing of BIPAC’s endorsed candidates, go to www.bipac.org.
