State Sen. Andrew Rice (D), waging an uphill battle to oust Sen. James Inhofe (R), has unveiled “Women for Rice,” a group of more than 1,100 female supporters led by his wife, Apple Newman Rice.

In announcing the formation of the group on Monday, Rice touted the backing he is receiving from Gov. Brad Henry’s wife, Kim Henry; Oklahoma Secretary of State Susan Savage; and Native American Wilma Mankiller, a former chief of the Cherokee Nation.
