Menendez to Be Named DSCC Chairman Tuesday

Sen. Bob Menendez (N.J.) is expected Tuesday morning to formally be announced as the next chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, according to a Democratic source. Menendez will succeed current DSCC Chairman Charles Schumer (N.Y.), who revealed Monday that he was leaving the post after two election cycles at the helm to focus on policy and legislating. Menendez served as DSCC vice chairman for the past two years, and he was long considered to be Schumer’s successor. An announcement of the changing of the guard had been expected last week, but was unexpectedly delayed.
