Sessions Adds Four to NRCC Team

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (Texas) continued to round out his team on Thursday by announcing four hires for the 2010 cycle.

Elizabeth Verrill, who previously worked as regional finance director for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), is taking over as finance director for the committee. A former staffer at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Verrill has also worked at the Mercury Group consulting firm.

Verrill will be aided in her new post by Jenny Sheffield, who will serve as NRCC deputy finance director. Sheffield, who worked as political action committee director at the NRCC for the 2006 cycle, is coming off a stint as PAC director for the NRSC during the 2008 cycle. From 2000 to 2004, Sheffield worked in various posts in Sessions’ Capitol Hill office.

In addition, Sessions has retained Bob Honold, who will again serve as incumbent retention director. Prior to joining the NRCC, he worked as director of public affairs at CTIA. Honold has also worked in several Congressional offices, including those of Reps. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) and Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Fla.).

Finally, John Randall, who worked in the NRCC’s press shop during the 2006 cycle, is returning to the committee as new media director. During the 2008 cycle, Randall worked as the online communications manager for the NRSC and has also worked as press secretary for Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.).
