GOP Fills Slots on Financial Services

House Financial Services ranking member Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) on Thursday announced five new members of the committee for the 111th Congress.

New GOP additions include Reps. Chris Lee (N.Y.), Erik Paulsen (Minn.), Lynn Jenkins (Kan.), Leonard Lance (N.J.) and Bill Posey (Fla.).

Despite those additions, Republicans have lost some influence on the committee in the 111th Congress. Four GOP Members did not return to the panel in 2009 and four spots were eliminated, leaving no new openings for GOP lawmakers.
