DNC Seeks Tales From the Economic Dark Side

If the collapsing U.S. economy has crushed your dreams, the Democratic National Committee wants to hear your tale of woe.

In an appeal sent to a Barack Obama presidential campaign e-mail list, the DNC invites activists to “Share your story about how this economic crisis is affecting you and your family,” in order to boost support for Obama’s stimulus plan.

The e-mail routes visitors to a barackobama.com Web site where “you can record your story in the form below, on video, upload photos, or call a special toll free number to tell your story in your own way.”

The stories will be “made available to the public to show how critical it is to support the economic recovery plan,” the site says.

“America needs to hear how this crisis is affecting your life and why the economic recovery plan is important to you and your community.”
