Nation: DCCC Robocalls Target Freshmen

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is continuing its advertising blitz this week in an effort to apply pressure to Republicans on the stimulus bill, targeting several GOP freshmen in recorded calls.

The committee announced it is funding robocalls targeting GOP Reps. Bill Cassidy (La.), John Fleming (La.), Brett Guthrie (Ky.), Leonard Lance (N.J.), Chris Lee (N.Y.), Blaine Luetkemeyer (Mo.) and Tom Rooney (Fla.).

“Did you know Congressman Tom Rooney voted against economic recovery that would immediately create and save nearly 330,000 Florida jobs?” the caller says. “Times are tough. Tell Congressman Rooney to put families before politics.”

The DCCC also ran radio advertisements with a similar message in 28 GOP districts across the country last week.
