Photo From the Attic: Paging Dingell

[IMGCAP(1)]The Congressional page system began officially in 1827, when House Clerk Matthew St. Clair Clarke employed young men to run errands and deliver messages. In this photograph of the 1939 class, there’s a very familiar face: now-Rep. John Dingell, who earlier this month became the longest-serving Member of the House. Young Dingell can be picked out in the front row, ninth from the right.
