Rossman to Reunite With Lott Downtown

Manny Rossman, the top staffer to Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), is headed downtown.

Rossman is set to join his former boss, former Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.), at the Breaux Lott Leadership Group, according to sources.

Rossman has long been courted by K Streeters because of his deep political ties and background on tax issues. Lott tried to hire Rossman when the Breaux Lott firm was first launched in early 2008.

Rossman first served as legislative aide and later legislative director to then-Rep. Phil Crane (R-Ill.). In 2005, he became a senior policy adviser for Lott on tax, finance and budget issues. In 2007, he moved into the Senate leadership ranks when Lott became the GOP Whip.

With the addition of Rossman, the Breaux Lott firm claims seven lobbyists.

The one-year-old shop billed more than $8 million last year.

Kyl’s deputy chief of staff, Lisa Wolski, has been tapped to replace Rossman.
