Olson Heading Home After Surgery

Rep. Pete Olson (R-Texas) is heading back to Texas following emergency heart surgery on Thursday.

Olson, 46, was rushed to George Washington University Hospital after experiencing dizziness and a slowed heart rate while he was exercising in the House gym. He was given a pacemaker and spent the night in the hospital.

“He’s good to go. The doctors gave him a clean bill of health,˜ Olson spokesman Luke Marchant said, adding that the freshman Republican will be back to work next week.

“He works out all the time. This just proves it can happen to anyone,˜ Marchant said. “The office is thankful to the outpour of support.˜
