Obama Will Meet With House Democrats

President Barack Obama will travel to Capitol Hill to meet with House Democrats early next week to discuss his agenda and listen to what’s on their minds, according to White House officials.

White House officials did not specify the day, but the gathering is all but certain to occur Monday. Obama departs for a trip to Europe early Tuesday.

The House session follows a similar meeting with Senate Democrats that the president will have Wednesday.

Much time in the meetings is expected to focus on the economy — particularly Obama’s budget, which is drawing some concerns even from Democrats — as well as the president’s financial system rescue strategy.
