House Ethics Panel Gets a New Staff Director

Ethics Chairwoman Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and ranking member Jo Bonner (R-Ala.) on Wednesday tapped Blake Chisam to become the panel’s staff director and chief counsel.Chisam, a Lofgren aide, is being promoted from his post as senior policy adviser and counsel to the chairwoman, and he will assume his new duties May 1.He previously served as senior counsel to the House Judiciary Committee and was a private practice attorney for more than 10 years. Kenyen Brown had served as acting staff director and chief counsel since mid-2008, when William O’Reilly left the panel and later rejoined the law firm Jones Day.
