Republican Lungren Draws Challenger in California’s 3rd

Democrat Gary Davis stepped forward today to challenge veteran Republican Rep. Dan Lungren , who is on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) target list for 2010.

Davis, an Elk Grove city council member, announced Wednesday his 2010 campaign for Lungren’s 3rd District seat.  

The Democrat, who formerly served as mayor of Elk Grove, stressed in a statement that he enjoys serving at the local level, “but the best way to serve my community is to go to Washington and keep up the fight.” Davis named his campaign website www.davisbeatslungren.com.
