HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Pelosi’s Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Among the gaggle of reporters facing Speaker Nancy Pelosi during her testy news conference this morning, there was at least one friendly face.

[IMGCAP(1)]The California Democrat’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, was toting a handheld camera and almost blended in with the usual Capitol press corps gang who were hounding her mom. During the event, she trained the camera on both the members of the media and the speakers at the news conference.

Alexandra, a New York-based filmmaker whose credits include the Emmy-nominated “Journeys With George— and “The Trials of Ted Haggard,— is working on a project unrelated to her mother, Drew Hammill, a spokesman for the Speaker, tells HOH. “She films on a daily basis,— Hammill said in an e-mail.

According to those in the room, Alexandra didn’t quite look the part of a typical journo: She was sporting dark glasses (indoors — how very New York!) and got to leave the room, camera in hand, with her mother and the other members of the Democratic leadership.
