Organizing for America Launches Week of Health Care Events

The Democratic grass-roots group Organizing for America next week will hold what it is calling a “Health Care Reform Week of Action,— featuring nationwide efforts by activists to drum up support for President Barack Obama’s health care proposals.The group, which began as a cadre of grass-roots supporters of Obama’s presidential campaign, is now housed within the DNC.Beginning on Monday and spanning through Sunday, OFA operatives will be canvassing door to door, manning phone banks and holding “roundtable discussions with real people and community gatherings,— according to a DNC statement.OFA leaders are also sending out e-mails to small-business owners on its massive e-mail list “to speak out in favor of health care reform and to sign on to a letters to their Senators in support of reform,— according to a separate statement by a DNC official.
