DCCC Barely Outraises NRCC in August

Updated: 3:55 p.m.

House Democrats barely edged out their GOP counterparts in fundraising last month.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $3.3 million, while the National Republican Congressional Committee brought in $3.15 million in the month of August.

But the DCCC also has considerably more cash in the bank, with $10.7 million in cash on hand. The NRCC will report having less than half that sum — about $4.2 million — in the bank for this cycle.

House Democrats, however, still carry twice as much debt with $4.6 million in the hole. The NRCC will report a debt of $2 million in its finance reports due Sunday.
